Overheating and switching off

Overheating of computers and laptops is a very common fault. The problem lies usually with the fans. On a computer the heatsink and fan will usually cost between £10 – £20.

On a laptop the problem is usually not being able to get your hands on the correct fan for your system. To the left in the image is a few laptop fans we have taken from laptops. These fans can get clogged up with dust and cause the laptop to overheat and switch off. Overheating can be caused by blocking the fans with bed covers or if there is excessive dust in the fan filter area, this will cause it to switch off. The laptop switching off may be annoying but its better than overheating and blowing up !!
