We are often asked who would make a virus and why. The answer is usually to get money out of customers. Let me tell you how this works. Lets say you visit a website and you click on a link that says click here for a free scan of your pc. The site you may be on could have been hacked and a link placed on the website. So you click on the link that takes you to a website promising you a free piece of software that removes all viruses 100% gaurenteed and whats more its free!
so you download the software (virus) and the scan starts, but in the background the virus loads onto your pc and causes it to run very slow, the free scanner software then displays a message saying found 200 trojans and viruses !!
wow not good so the free scan will remove them right? No !
If you want these viruses removed you have to go back to the website you got the virus from then pay the $39 to have the virus removed. Upset you switch off your pc. When you turn it back on it takes 10 minutes to load up, then the virus scanner starts looking for viruses again but you try to click out of the program but you cant. Then the message flashes up saying the only way to remove these virsuses is to buy the special virus scanner eliminator that gaurentees to remove all virsuses and promises to speed up your pc. So you click the link and key in your mastercard details. The money is taken from your account and you download the new software however right in the middle of downloading your computer freezes and you cant click anything in fact you cant even turn the computer off. So you hold down the power button for 3 seconds this causes lost data and even more problems then you have to call us for help. These hackers and virus creators earn so much money from this, each hacker earns around $100,000 per year !!!!!
Big money, thats the reason making viruses and hacking system is really worth the time and energy put into it. As long as you click on links to install something and you dont know exactly what your downloading in this case the problems will remain.
